Infographic: BJP's Protection Against Anti-Incumbency

Background: Suspicions of Electoral Irregularities

There have been longstanding concerns about the fairness of recent elections in India. Opposition political parties and civil society groups have alleged that:

  • The BJP has enjoyed protection against anti-incumbency despite public dissatisfaction which is a rather surprising trend
  • Election schedules have been structured by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to benefit the ruling party's campaigning
  • Some election outcomes in states like Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Maharashtra were clearly counterintuitive
  • The Election Commission of India (ECI) has avoided transparency by not releasing digitally readable voter rolls and deleting CCTV footage of the voting process

The Bangalore Central Investigation

On 7th August 2025, The Congress Party presented to India and the world the evidence for massive electoral fraud. They have based this claim on an investigation that they conducted over a period of six months by looking at the Voter Lists for an assembly segment in the Bangalore Central Lok Sabha constituency. They specifically focused on the Mahadevapura Assembly segment where they allege unusual voting patterns occurred.

The Five Types of Electoral Irregularities

1. Alleged Duplicate Voters (11,965 cases)

Duplicate Voters
  • Same voters appear multiple times in voter rolls
  • For example: A voter appears 4 times in 4 different booths
  • Identical voter IDs are found across different cities (Bangalore, Varanasi, Lucknow)

2. Alleged Fake Addresses (40,009 cases)

Fake Addresses
  • Voters have been registered at non-existent addresses (e.g., "House Number: 0")
  • Voter Rolls also show fictitious relative names (e.g. "HHGASJHOFA" as father's name)
  • Voters have addresses that cannot be verified or located

3. Alleged Bulk Voters in Single Address (10,452 cases)

Bulk Voters
  • Unusually high numbers of voters registered at single addresses
  • For example: 80+ voters were found to be registered at the same one room
  • Questions naturally arise about the physical possibility of these living arrangements

4. Alleged Invalid Photos (4,132 cases)

Invalid Photos
  • Many voters have unclear or indistinguishable voter ID photos
  • Anyone can vote with these cards since photos are not verifiable
  • There are multiple voters with micro-sized or completely blank photo spaces in the voter lists

5. Alleged Form 6 Misuse (33,692 cases)

Form 6 Misuse
  • Form 6 is designed for first-time voters, mainly aged 18-21
  • However many older people, even 90+ years old, have registered using ths form as "first-time voters"
  • There is evidence that people have registered multiple times using this form
